The Nashville office of Cincinnati-based Fifth Third Bank will relocate to Germantown’s Neuhoff District from downtown.
According to a release, Fifth Third will take about 20,000 square feet of space in the mixed-use development’s 15-story office tower (see here), with the move slated for 2026.
Terms of the lease are not being disclosed.
Fifth Third has operated from the central business district tower (see here) in which it serves as the anchor tenant and naming sponsor since 2006. Nashville Business Journal reported in May 2024 that the high-rise, located at the northeast corner of the intersection of Rep. John Lewis Way (Fifth Avenue North) and Church Street, is for sale (read here).
The first phase of Neuhoff District includes nearly 1 million square feet of residential, retail and office space housed in various buildings located near the west bank of the Cumberland River. The renovation of the site’s pre-1950s-constructed buildings began in 2019, and the retail and office space opened to the public in 2024. Move-ins began late last year for Neuhoff Residences, with nearly 75 percent of the units now leased.
Fifth Third will join, among other companies, Butler Snow, Frazier & Deeter, Boston Consulting Group, Rubicon Partners and JE Dunn at the office tower.
The Post has been unable to determine the number of Fifth Third employees expected to work from Neuhoff District.
“Our move to Neuhoff reflects Fifth Third’s continued commitment to growth in Nashville, supporting our expanding local client base and the broader Nashville community,” Fifth Third Regional President David Briggs said in the release.
“The Neuhoff District — with its rich history, iconic architecture and modern transformation — will allow us to attract top talent from Nashville and beyond, better serve our clients, and continue contributing to the city’s dynamic growth.”
Kennedy Hicks, Cousins’ executive vice president, chief investment officer and managing director, said Neuhoff is quickly becoming a cultural destination in the city, adding companies see the benefit of joining “a high-quality, lifestyle environment.”
For the lease transaction, a partnership involving Stream Realty and Cushman & Wakefield represented the developer/owner, a collaboration between New City and Cousins Properties. CBRE represented Fifth Third.
Formerly accommodating the Neuhoff Packing Company, the Neuhoff District site has been home in the past to the Nashville Jazz Workshop, the Nashville Cultural Arts Project and a personal studio for late singer-songwriter John Prine.
