A national provider of flexible workspace solutions is setting up shop in one of Columbia’s most recognizable office buildings.

South Carolina’s Allen Wilkerson represented AgFirst Farm Credit Bank in the lease of a 17,179-square-foot office space at 1901 Main Street in downtown Columbia to Venture X, according to a news release.

Venture X is a provider of flexible workspace solutions, includes private offices, conference rooms, virtual offices and a community lounge and cafe area, according to the release. With 47 coworking locations in the United States, including Charleston, Greenville and Fort Mill, Venture X – Downtown Columbia will provide premium flexible workspace solutions to freelancers, entrepreneurs, small businesses and enterprise corporations, the release stated.

“We are excited to bring Venture X to the Columbia market,” said Wilkerson in the release. “The location will serve its clients well and securing the top floor will allow for unparalleled views of Downtown Columbia and the surrounding area.”

Jason and Kimberly Rickman, owners of the Downtown Columbia location, are experienced small business entrepreneurs with a background in finance, real estate and construction management, the release stated.

“We are thrilled to bring Venture X to the vibrant City of Columbia. Our private office suites, coupled with the upscale amenities and the latest technology, allows for our location to raise the bar for coworking,” said Kimberly Rickman in the release.

Jason Rickman added: “We recognized the lack of flexible coworking options in the city and wanted to bridge that gap. We intend to provide a premium space to cater to the needs of the evolving workforce.”
